Isaiah 40:12-17; 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 Key verse: 1 Corinthians 2:9 Big idea: Non-Christians don’t and can’t understand God’s nature and plans. We can because we have the Spirit who has revealed it for us. Therefore we shouldn’t be worried when non-Christians judge us because they can’t make right judgements.
Jeremiah 9:23-24; 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5 Key verse: 1 Corinthians 1:24 Big idea: On every level the world will see the gospel as weak and foolish. Yet God has used it to bring salvation for those he’s called. This means that all glory and boasting needs to go to God.
2 Corinthians 10:1-6; Jeremiah 10:1-16 Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:4 Big Idea: Sharing Jesus means we deal with the false stories people live by and we should graciously show the weaknesses and inconsistencies of their world views and seek God’s intervention in their lives so we might present Christ.
2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Corinthians 2:1-16 Key verse: Ephesians 1:17 How can we really know that God speaks to us, or that we can understand what he says? Through the Spirit who inspired the scriptures, illuminates them to us so that we may see Christ as Lord, and allows us follow him daily.
